Collaborative Practice - This module integrates different approaches to working with outside agencies whether in professional environments or forming new contexts for collaborative work. You should demonstrate that you have considered the purpose of the collaboration in relation to its theoretical, cultural, historical context as well as its feasability in terms of producing work within a particular media.

Concept

This project was one done in collaboration with the Plymouth based group, "Peninsula Arts'. Working with fellow student Chris Edwards and alongside the film administrator for the Peninsula Arts cinema program, we developed a project to compliment the cinema experience and remove the product orientated environment that cinema has become. We developed two instillation pieces to be held in conjunction with the screening of '2001: A Space Odyssey'. The work focused on themes from within the film, in particular that of computer surveillance. Motion and sound response created visuals (programmed through MAX MSP) were played back to an audience, recognising patterns in the apparent 'random' and effecting the way in which people interact with a space.
